The Middlesbrough part of Sanctuary regional partnership initiative remains strong with regular collections of clothes, bedding and household goods coming from different communities in York. Both MAP and OPEN DOOR welcome these ongoing collections. Skills sharing has been another element of the intiative and our York-based support group have given a first workshop on ‘job skills’ to be developed in the new year, six workshops with Middlesbrough volunteers on English teaching and we are about to start others on women’s health among the asylum community.
