Middlesbrough Regional Partnerships

We are supporting two organizations which work with local asylum seekers and refugees in the Middlesbrough area: MAP ( Methodist Asylum Project and Open Door. Over the last months our network here in York has been supplying clothes and household items to these two projects. Fundraising on their behalf has also taken place. In addition we are encouraging specialists to go there and work with both volunteers and service users in English language instruction, job search etc. as well as making new contacts with other groups who can support them in different ways. The need is ongoing and we are trying to maintain these relationships to provide practical assistance and moral support.
